February 02, 2011 Colombia: Altra pulled out from Infarmasa ending the investments cycle Mauricio Camargo, manager of the Colombian venture capital Altra Investments, says the divestiture of the stake held in the Peruvian pharmaceuticals firm Corporacion Infarmasa to Teva Pharmaceuticals, is due to the investments cycle policy adopted by Altra that moved into Infarmasa in 2007. The Peruvian company has generated profits ever since and its assets were coveted by players willing to move in. Altra has a diversified portfolio of investments that include Digitex (Spain); in Colombia it has states in Colfrigos, Petroiger Proenfar; and Servicios Mineros Gloria in Peru. Altra was formed 2005 with a capital of US$270mil to invest in companies in the Andean region (particularly Peru and Colombia) and in Central America. Another investment fund that pulled out from Infarmasa was Rohatyn Group formed by Pedro Paulo Kuczynski, former Peruvian Minister. Teva wind up 95% on Infarmasa shared by both Altra and Rohatyn.
