Summary: Mr. Camargo co-founded ALTRA in 2005 after 11 years at McKinsey, where he was appointed as a Partner in 1999.


Mr. Camargo co-founded ALTRA in 2005 after 11 years at McKinsey, where he was appointed as a Partner in 1999. As Head of McKinsey’s Bogota office, Mr. Camargo served as the lead consultant to the boards and senior management of many of the leading public and private industrial conglomerates in the Andean region and Caribbean, including Valorem, Grupo Carvajal, Manuelita, and Fundación Social. During this period, Mr. Camargo was responsible for implementing a range of initiatives aimed at resolving the strategic, operational, and organizational business problems of these companies, including corporate portfolio strategy, business unit strategy, M&A, alliances and post-merger management, performance and profitability improvement, and organizational effectiveness efforts.
Mr. Camargo holds a Master of Science in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.SC. degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.

Mr. Durán co-founded ALTRA in 2005 after 14 years of operational, private equity investing, and consulting experience in the Andean region. Mr. Durán previously served as Investments Vice President of Valores Bavaria (now Valorem), the largest industrial conglomerate in Colombia. During his tenure, Mr. Durán was responsible for the overall performance of 10 portfolio companies in the media, telecom, petrochemical, and industrial sectors, which included the joint development, with management, of strategic and financial plans, the financial restructuring and operational turnaround of distressed investments, and acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to joining Valorem, Mr. Durán worked in the Boston office of McKinsey & Company as a consultant to a major New England consumer packaged goods company. Before McKinsey, Mr. Durán worked at the Sanford Group, a leading industrial conglomerate in the Andean region, where he held numerous operating roles at both the portfolio and holding company level.
Mr. Durán holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master in Finance and a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota.

Mr. Gómez joined ALTRA in 2012, after more than 10 years of experience in investment management. Prior to joining ALTRA, Mr. Gomez served as Chief Executive Officer of ContourGlobal Latam, a subsidiary of ContourGlobal (LON:GLO), which is a leading independent power producer that develops, acquires, and operates electric power projects around the world. Prior to his CEO position, Juan Pablo joined ContourGlobal as an executive Vice President leading M&A and greenfield project finance opportunities across multiple geographies. Before joining ContourGlobal, Mr. Gómez served as project director at Valorem, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Colombia. At Valorem, Mr. Gómez was responsible for supporting the asset management of portfolio companies, including leading organizational teams, ensuring the execution of turnaround and reorganizational plans, and managing M&A processes. Before joining Valorem, Mr. Gómez worked at Inverlink, a leading boutique investment bank in Colombia.
Mr. Gómez holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration from Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administracion (“CESA”) in Bogota and a degree in International Business and Trade and Economic Policy from American University in Washington D.C.

Mr. Muñoz joined ALTRA in 2012, after more than 10 years of experience in private equity, restructuring, corporate finance, and capital markets. Prior to joining ALTRA, Mr. Muñoz worked in New York as a Senior Associate at Capital Bank Financial Corp. (NASDAQ:CBF), a bank holding company which raised approximately USD 900mm of private equity capital to buy distressed banks located in the Southeastern United States. While at Capital Bank Financial Corp., Mr. Muñoz participated in seven acquisitions of financial institutions, deploying over USD 850mm of capital. Mr. Muñoz also played a key role in the public listing of CBF’s shares on the NASDAQ. Earlier in his career, Mr. Muñoz worked for five years as an Associate in Bank of America Securities’ Latin America & Caribbean Institutional Fixed Income Group.
Mr. Muñoz holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from University of Miami.

Mr. Carrillo joined ALTRA in 2007 after more than has sixteen years of experience in investment management, M&A, strategy consultancy, and private equity in Latin America. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carrillo worked in the Corporate Development division at CEET, a leading Latin American media conglomerate with controlling interests in other sectors including entertainment, telecommunications and real estate. In this capacity, he participated in the divestiture of non-core portfolio companies and in the expansion and consolidation of core businesses. Earlier in his career, Mr. Carrillo worked for three years as a strategy consultant for development projects.
Mr. Carrillo holds an MBA from HEC Montreal and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.

Mrs. Camacho has more than fifteen years of experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and private equity in Latin America. Prior to joining ALTRA in 2009, Mrs. Camacho was an Associate at Gómez-Pinzón Zuleta, one of Colombia´s leading law firms, where she participated in M&A transactions, project financings, corporate legal advisory work and other transactions across a wide range of industries. Prior to Gómez-Pinzón Zuleta, she served as an Associate at Baker & McKenzie an international Law Firm.
Mrs. Camacho holds a JD from Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, a Specialization in Commercial Law from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, and a LLM with honors from Tulane University.

Summary: Gladys joined ALTRA in 2016, after more than 20 years of experience leading HR departments and organizational change initiatives in companies within the financial, real, and service sectors, in addition to experience in Management Consulting and Executive Coaching.


Gladys joined ALTRA in 2016, after more than 20 years of experience leading HR departments and organizational change initiatives in companies within the financial, real, and service sectors, in addition to experience in Management Consulting and Executive Coaching. Prior to joining ALTRA, Ms. Vega had principal HR roles, first at Allianz, a multinational insurer, to then take the lead in the organizational change process and HR perspective at Banco Agrario de Colombia. Additionally, Ms. Vega worked in the Human Management and Organizational Transformation division in Colsubsidio, a service company with nine business lines and over 15,000 employees.
Ms. Vega is a Psychologist from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with postgraduate studies in Human Management, Senior Management programs and professional Coach, and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Association of Colombia- ACRIP.

Mrs. Rodríguez joined ALTRA in 2017, after more than twenty years of experience leading Internal Audit, Risk Management and Compliance functions in important multinational companies; Mrs. Rodríguez has worked in financial services institutions, including Citibank (Corporate Banking), Bancolombia (corporate & consumer banking), Falabella Bank-(Consume credit bank), Metlife (Life Insurance). She worked as Internal Audit manager for Cemex, assuring internal control for SOAM (seven countries in the Americas – Latin America and Caribbean Countries). She has extensive experience leading Internal Audit teams, Risk and Controls, Compliance and antifraud processes, as well as implementing FCPA law, UK anti-bribery act, FATCA, SOX, credit, liquidity, market, and operational risk models.
Mrs. Rodriguez has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Finances and a post grade in Information security & operational Risk from Universidad Externado de Colombia; Amalia is also certified as Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

Mr. Arrázola has more than eight years of experience in investment banking and private equity. Prior to joining ALTRA in 2016, Mr. Arrázola worked as an Associate at Ecopetrol, a Colombian Oil & Gas holding company. While at Ecopetrol he oversaw the financial and strategic performance of several subsidiaries in the midstream and upstream segments. He also led the portfolio valuation of more than 30 companies in the group with an equity valuation over USD 20bn. Prior to Ecopetrol, Mr. Arrázola worked for BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking in Colombia as an Analyst performing extensive advisory in M&A deals in mining, retail, consumer and food & beverage sectors.
He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. While at Columbia Business School, Mr. Arrázola worked at New Heights Capital, a Private Equity Firm in New York focused in the lower-middle market asset class.
